A fried egg, cheesy egg and cheese sandwich with toast are a very popular breakfast food popular in both the United States and Canada. It consists of an egg, cheese, bread and any other ingredients that can be used. Many like this type of sandwich because it is quick and easy to make. It can be made in a skillet or on the grill if preferred. Some like the way it tastes and bakes in the oven.
First, Preheat The Oven To Medium Heat
Cutting the sandwich into quarters will help the process go faster and help avoid the raw egg and cheese on the bread or skillet. Place one half of the sandwich onto the hot pizza pan or skillet and cook until the egg begins to set. Turn the half that has been placed onto the cold plate or skillet and continue to cook an additional five minutes, turning the half that was on the hot plate or skillet every few minutes. When the egg is done setting, turn the sandwich back on to warm and wait another five minutes.
When the egg is done set, use the butter and bread crumbs to cover each piece of the egg and cheese. If using a bagel, instead of butter, place softened cream cheese over the bagel and top with a sliced bagel. Brush the tops with egg wash and place the bagel on top. Close the sandwich and bake in the oven at medium heat for approximately thirty minutes or until the egg begins to set.
Remove The Second Slice Of Bread
When the egg is almost set, use a spatula to remove the second slice of bread into a bowl. Add two tablespoons of the margarine and place in the center of the bagel. Gently fold the two slices of bread over each other and continue to cook for approximately two minutes. This will help ensure the bread crumbs are fully cooked before filling the sandwich with the filling. The last thing you need to do is to sprinkle the tops with the remaining tablespoon of margarine.
In order to make the whole egg sandwich complete, fill the large sandwich with half of the cheese and load into the roll. Add the second slice of bread and continue to fold. When finished, add the second egg and fold it around the egg and cheese mixture. You should have a full egg sandwich with the perfect ingredients. Serve with vegetables and a dip.
Salads are an excellent way to top off any meal. An egg and cheese bagel is easy to make for a quick and delicious breakfast sandwich. Before the salad comes to the table, pre-heat the oven. In order to keep the level of the egg and cheese low, the bagel should be filled with just enough egg so that it does not get too hot. Before placing the bagel on the plate, place the optional meats onto the bagel such as the bacon.
Place the second piece of bread on top of the grilled cheese and turn both pieces over so that they are face down. Brush some olive oil over both pieces of bread.
