An avocado is so high in nutrition, it actually lowers your blood pressure. Avocados contain a lot of vitamins, trace minerals, and antioxidants. In addition to helping you keep your heart healthy, the vitamins and minerals found in avocados help to ward off disease.

An egg and avocado sandwich are also a very easy meal to make. If you can use a food processor, chopping and blending the avocado is very simple. Even better, if you have an easy to make blender you could puree the avocado and egg and then add a little water to make a smooth paste that you can apply to any type of bread.

I love to eat an egg and avocado sandwich at diners when I visit trendy cafes. My favorite place to go is diner downtown. I order the tuna salad with the avocado and egg whites on top. The waitress brings it to my table, I cut into it, eat the avocado and then top with my tuna salad. It tastes so good, I continue to eat the tuna salad. There are a few other places I have been to that serve egg and avocado sandwiches, but this is my favorite.

Ingredients You Need To Prepare Egg And Avocado Sandwich

To make a successful egg and avocado sandwich, you need a good egg. You can find an egg that is set in an egg whites setting in your grocery store. You will also need some ripe avocado flesh. Try to find the fruit with the least amount of seeds in it, because more seeds makes the sandwich soggy. Place about a spoonful of avocado on each half of the bread slice, followed by a layer of egg white. Top with your favorite type of sandwich spread, such as low calorie and low fat sour cream or even cashew cheese.

At diners, I prefer to make my sandwich with a whole egg. This gives a nice golden brown color to the bread and avocado, and it adds a nice flavor to it. If you are going to make it at home, be sure to read all of the nutritional information before making your sandwich. You do not want to eat a nutritional monstrosity and then feel bad about yourself because you ate a piece of cake. Also, be sure to choose a bread that is both sturdy and flavorful. Breads like wheat bread are best for sandwich breads.

Preparing Delicious Sandwich

Toast the egg whites and avocado for a few seconds. When the toasted bread has reached the correct temperature, turn it over and flip it back over so that the top part of the sandwich is still exposed. If you have ever made a toast with eggs and avocado, you will know what I’m talking about when I say that the taste of the sandwich is greatly improved if you allow the egg whites to sit for a couple of minutes. It will make a big difference in the taste of the sandwich. Also, be sure to remove the avocado from its container before spreading the egg onto the toast.

Put your bread in the microwave, but only use short grain rice. Do not, I repeat do not use anything else in the microwave. The reason you want to use short grain rice is because it holds its shape better when you mix it with the egg whites. Also, this helps to make a firmer sandwich.

Final Thoughts

Place the egg and avocado sandwich on a plate and place some napkins on it. Now it’s time to eat! When you are finished eating, place a slice of bagel on top of the sandwich as a showpiece. As you can see, making an egg and avocado sandwich isn’t that difficult.
